Heaven and Hell

by Lucy on October 9, 2013

While we’re all waiting for my pictures and videos and stories to present themselves, I want to share a little diddy (it’s the only word that came to mind) that I read off someone’s T-shirt about thirty years ago. I obviously cannot take credit for it; I only remember seeing the word ‘Farfalle’ at the bottom of it. ‘Farfalle’ means ‘butterfly’ in Italian. (There’s a pasta with the same shape, also called ‘Bowtie’ pasta). I like ‘farfalle’ better. Anyway, hope you enjoy it.

HEAVEN IS

Where all the police are British;

all the mechanics are German;

all the chefs are French;

all the lovers are Italian;

      and everything is run by the Swiss.

HELL IS

Where all the police are German;

all the mechanics are French;

all the chefs are British;

all the lovers are Swiss;

and everything is run by the Italians.

                                                             ‘Farfalle’
